Picture cards for our Narrative Theatre

Kamishibai offers a simple approach to give children a training in free story telling: sitting in a circle, the narrator opens the double wing door of the narrative theatre and thus the first image appears in the black frame of the stage. Following the sequence of pictures, children can relate the story in their own way. Educators and teachers value this method since it fosters linguistic and communicative abilities, leaves wide room for creativity and improvisation, builds community and is very low-key in terms of technicalities.
